These Terms & Conditions apply to the Says She website and to applications submitted through this website for Says She events.
By using this website or submitting an application, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Says She
Says She is a poetry and spoken word event hosted by Martina Keegan and Jan Brierton.

2. Use of this website
You may use this website to find information about Says She and to submit an application to perform at a Says She event.
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its security or availability, submit false or misleading information, or use the website in a way that may infringe the rights of others.
3. Applications
Submitting an application does not guarantee selection for any event.
Applications may be reviewed by the Says She organisers and, where relevant, by people assisting with event programming, production or administration.
We may contact applicants about their application, event arrangements, access requirements, performer information, photography and filming arrangements, or related administration.
We may decline an application at our discretion, including where the application is incomplete, unsuitable for the event, submitted after the deadline, or appears to infringe the rights of another person.
4. Applicant responsibilities
By submitting an application, you confirm that:
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- the poem or material you submit is your own original work, or you have all permissions needed to submit and perform it;
- your submission does not knowingly infringe copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights of another person;
- your submission is not defamatory, unlawful or intended to harass, threaten or abuse another person;
- you are available for the event time stated on the application form, unless you have told us otherwise.
5. Performance and event arrangements
If selected, you may be asked to confirm attendance, performance length, technical requirements, access requirements, biography, pronunciation of your name, and other practical details.
Performance slots, running order and event format are decided by the organisers. We may make changes where needed for programming, safety, access, timing, venue, staffing or other operational reasons.
Events may be changed, postponed or cancelled due to circumstances outside our control, including venue issues, illness, weather, public health guidance, safety concerns or other unforeseen circumstances.
6. Rights in submitted work
You retain ownership and copyright in the poem or material you submit.
By submitting work through the application form, you give Says She permission to read, store and assess your submission for the purposes of reviewing applications and organising the event.
If you are selected, you also give Says She permission to use your name, stage name, poem title, short performer information, social media handle or website link in event administration, listings, programme materials, introductions and reasonable event promotion.
Submitting your poem does not transfer copyright or publication rights in the written text to Says She. Says She will not publish or share the full written text of your submitted poem publicly without your separate permission.
7. Photography, audio and video
Says She events may be photographed, filmed, livestreamed or recorded.
By taking part as a selected performer, you agree that Says She, The Liberties Festival, their event partners, photographers, videographers and authorised representatives may photograph, film, record and edit your live performance and appearance at the event.
You give permission for this photography, video and audio recording to be used for event documentation, archive, press, publicity, social media, website, festival promotion and future promotion of Says She and related events.
This may include publication of photographs, short clips or full recordings of your live performance on websites, social media platforms, video platforms, printed materials, press materials or other promotional channels.
Says She will not sell recordings of your performance or use your image, voice or performance in paid commercial advertising for unrelated products or services without your separate permission.
If you have concerns about photography, filming, livestreaming or recording, please contact us before applying or before the event so we can discuss what may be possible. Because this is a live public event, we may not be able to guarantee exclusion from all crowd, venue or event documentation.
8. Accessibility
We aim to make Says She welcoming and accessible. Applicants may provide access requirements through the application form or by contacting us directly.
We will use reasonable efforts to support access needs, subject to venue, timing, safety and operational constraints.
9. Website content
The content on this website is provided for general information about Says She and related events. We try to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, accurate or available.
We may update, remove or change website content at any time.

This website may link to third-party websites, such as event partners, ticketing pages, social media platforms or venue websites.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices or terms of third-party websites.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Says She is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website, inability to use the website, event changes, or unsuccessful applications.
12. Privacy
Personal data submitted through this website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
